You guys (and ladies, you know who you are) sent in a grand total of two hundred and fifty-two entries describing Roger's button.
I was honestly expecting, like, ten. Twenty, tops.
Suggestions ranged from hilarious, to hilarious but way too complex to try and draw into a three-panel strip (which isn't to say the idea might not eventually be used...) to subtle and clever, to obvious pandering to fanboyism in hopes of getting the original artwork. (Not that there's anything wrong with that. )
The most popular general theme has the button do something to Doc's coffemaker, and the second most popular theme has it do something with, for, or to the girls. A surprising number- ten or twelve at least- involve somehow gender-swapping the cast for some reason.
And, of course, a large number fall back on the classics, with something popping out of the wall (hammers, pies) or falling from the ceiling (anvils, water, Dew, ping-pong balls) or a trapdoor opening below him (into a vat of Dew, into a wormhole portal, into the detention block.)
I have not yet had a chance to read all of them, and have only skimmed others (many went on for several paragraphs- which is not a problem, but my time at the moment is limited) but you've given me many great ideas, not only for tomorrow's strip, but also for whole future storylines.
And all that came from a blank, spare strip I'd drawn a while back, and a late night "screw it, I just want to go to bed" idea.
