I know everbody was ripping over Spaceship1 being sub-orbital, but it was still a huge progression for civilian space programs.
Not sure if SpaceX ever did an orbital shot before. If so, and it's the first commercial one, that has potentially huge implications for the space program. Now, if there was a second company also doing it, we'd see some REAL Competition and advancement again.
