Yeah, that had a definite draw for me. I have some big chunks of what I think is 4140, from old pump shafts. Lots of uses, but I hate to bandsaw off a couple inches at a time.
I was thinking it'd be interesting to set up a 16C collet changer for it too. I'm still a big fan of collets, but the 1-1/8" max cap of a 5C can be limiting at times. I don't know what the nose taper is (MT7?) but it'd be cool to have some of the giant Warner-Swasey collets in there...
