Upgrade the regs, keep the gun from hammering itself to death, and it will run quite nicely. No idea if anyone has tried sing a Trilogy reg - Tribals were already pretty dead by the time the Trilogy arrived, I think.
Yes, the black one would be a Mephisto - they used slightly simpler electronics and had no board in the backplate. The red/black sounds like a BBT, but they had different milling from the Mephisto.
