In one of "Jeeves and Wooster" episodes there was an adjustable golf club. What if Doc and Roger try to make one? They may just as well automate it. Which means giving it an engine to turn the head and a fuel supply for that engine. Probably the engine will be too powerful. Now imagine some switch getting stuck. The head is going to spin uncontrollably. Given the cartoon physics, it starts to move very fast.
