A question of welding and bandsaw blades.

by MephitMark

My present employer has a cut-off saw, with a couple of broken blades, but no proper band welder. They do have a acetylene torch, a stick AC and MIG welder. Now I am a competent Machinist, but my welding skills are pathetic. What I am wondering is it possible to use the MIG or acetylene to repair the blades? Or would it be better to go to a welding shop (there is one about a block away) instead?
