Honestly? My view is that Wikipedia itself isn't notable. They do have a point about 'clogging' searches with too many unrelated entires (after all, if you're going to do that, might as well just look up things in Google in the first place). The solution, though, is pretty simple--don't use it, and instead use a more specialized wiki, like comixpedia and the like. If the general-wiki's editors think an entry is 'notable' enough to be mentioned, they can just put in a link to the specialist wiki.
