Re: Would Patreon work for me?

by Dave H

Like Doc said, Patreon is geared more toward providing a (more or less) steady funding stream for people who are creating regularly - usually monthly or more frequently.

If you're looking for a one-time infusion of funds to upgrade tools and materials, something like GoFundMe might be more in order. It's often used to raise money for a single project or expense (i.e. building upgrades, funeral expenses for a family who've lost someone, etc.) where contributors don't receive some product or consideration like they would in a Kickstarter.

If I understand right, you're the guy who makes detailed models of churches using Lego? I've seen your work in the news, and it's phenomenal!
