USS Little Rock

by Dave H

Dad was a chief radioman on the Little Rock. I'd hoped to see the ship's radio room since that's whre Dad worked, plus I'm a ham radio operator myself. But that part of the ship was closed off to visitors the day we were there.

We went through the destroyer, the USS The Sullivans, too. I can't imagine actually working in that engine room while the ship was under way. That'd be like riding in the engine compartment of a truck. While people are shooting at you.

We skipped going on the submarine. It was getting late and my legs were killing me from all the climbing up and down ladders on the other two ships.
