User serviceability of Apple stuff

I am solidly in agreement with you there on what a PITA Apple products have become to service.

The last time I attempted to do so was with my iPhone 4, replacing a 'power' button that had become unreliable after having used it to 'idle' it many times (I had this phone long enough that by the time I finally upgraded, even the used cell-phone stores refused to make me an offer).

Anyway, the process of dismantling and reassembling the phone, even with step-by-step guidance from iFixit, was such a damn nuisance I am determined to never attempt anything like that again! And I'm an electronics tech!
