The best computer we have is a Pentium 4 with half a gig of RAM.
And that is still permitted to "go online" via magic through the system to connect with the big computer network downtown... and blah blah blah this thing hasn't been updated in years. And every so often someone tries to go online with it.
Up front the boss has his own personal laptop he brings in, and he surfs the web without a care in the world. No adblock, no AV programs no nothing.
I cringe every time someone pays by CC here, I have no doubt we are compromised.
It's not our IT department's fault. He knows what the problems are, the owner just "doesn't get computers." And he's frugal to the point where he uses both sides of a single square of TP.
Sigh. Someday I hope to work for a real company with a real budget with people who have a clue.
And maybe $100 bills will shoot out of my ass three times a day every day until I turn 60.
