For the Machinist here, prepare to drool.

Or any real tech-head amongst us. Doc's earlier post about a cool tour of the sunken US Saratoga's Machine shop brought up videos of a modern US Naval Machine shop (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-s9jnQlv-8 ). Very interesting. If I had made a better choice some 36 years ago, I'd have a different emblem on my uniform sleeve.

The next video was just over 45 minutes long, and I spent almost the entire time with my jar in my lap. A tour of the University of California, Berkley Labs (37.875246, -122.248638). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmmNRaKpBTI Somethings to look for/note: 17:50-the sign on the wall, 29:14-simple he says!!!, 41:51-proves Machinist Nerds have a real sense of humor.

The third video was a impromtu tour of THE, yes THE, Starrett Factory!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7JqXbm-Nwo I was just a little amazed that they still use very old, but still working screw lathe machines. Many of those machines must be at least 50-60 years old and still working. Probable better then my aging chassis.
