I learned to drive (and still live) in rural northern Indiana, where the first accident of the winter us usually some dumbass kid in a lifted F250 who thinks he's the undisputed king of the road.

Meanwhile, I've made it through the last ten winters in a base-model '83 Ranger, and the ten before that in a Sentra. I've learned to respect the snow the hard way, and I've seen enough idiots who learned it the really hard way to know that 4 wheel drive isn't going to do you much good if you're going sideways.
