He not only released information that he REALLY should have known was 'eyes only' until further notice, but from what I understand, he did it BEFORE the operation was over!
There might have been backup crews, surveillance and support teams still in the area and in exposed positions!
These would all have been in danger because of his stupidity!
Remember 'Loose lips sinks ships'?
Hopefully, they learn one or two important lessons from this debacle;
1. That operational security means that. Shut up about it and only let those who ARE supposed to talk about do so, when planned to do so.
2. All major operations also need a PR plan. What to announce and when to announce it, what to keep quiet about, how to handle 'deviations' from the plan.
