      If I'm reading the report correctly, there was less than a minute between the aircraft signalling an alarm and impact with the ground. In fact, there's a nifty little graph that suggests that if the pilot had not inadvertently jostled the controls while wrestling with the emergency oxygen system, the original, deliberate descent would have hit the ground in about three minutes.

      Then I re-read an earlier section. These guys were doing their return to base in excess of Mach 1.2, more than 800 knots.
