Those who make armor call stainless "devil's iron"

Theres a reason armourers in the SCA call stainless steel "devil's iron".
It resists forming politely the way mild steel does.
It hardens on you without warning.
It puts up a fight when you try to drill or punch it in sheet form.
It fights the hammer like a demon, and pees on your anvil.
Theres armourers who refuse to work in stainless.
I have come to understand why....
