      I thought the Niblick was a reference to "I Love Lucy". Season 3, episode 30,was "The Golf
      Game."Ricky and Fred wanted to discourage their wives from wanting to join them for golf,
      so they promised to teach them golf- and invented an INCREDIBLY complicated game with terms
      like "Niblick" and having to say "May I" before hitting the ball, and so on.
      Golf champion Jimmy Demaret guest-starred as himself.
      The guys invented new meanings for things like "birdie" and, apparently, "mashie."
