Fracking does increase production, but in much the same way as clear cutting increases timber production over thinning. But then you have massive erosion issues, ecosystem change and repopulation of weed trees. Fracking screws up so much that the geologists don't understand. Drinking water sources are ruined, spring fed rivers are tainted, bedrock structure is changed. our thirst for excess is deplorable. I have no right to tell you what you need or don't need, but when what you want defiles what I have, then it's time for me to say and do something.
