      On an m16 its a different story, because of NFA serial number requirements and engraving. Even still, if HB sold this, it would have to have manufacturer markings as well as a serial, and the serial would have to be on a metal plate embedded in the receiver. Look at Glocks and other polymer guns, they have a small metal insert that is engraved with the serial number, it is never in the plastic.
