Kris,
I have recently recieved e-mails and posts from new members complaining that I'm never at the chats, that I don't post, or that the political is BS.
When this site was put up, and the hosted chats scheduled, there was many nights I'd wait at the chat and no one came. Now there are a few more members more women are reaching out for support. I understand the anger and fustration, but it shouldn't be directed at me.
I understand the need for support, this is why the coalition was created. The need for support of other victims and to share stories of what happened and of our daily life is just as great as the need for change to be created, but if the change is not created then what's the purpose of giving support?
Women must first come to terms of what has happened to them, and sort out their personal life, and have support before they can put effort into the political aspects. Their #1 priority should be their health, personal and family life. Not everyone will want to or will be able to dedicate time and effort into the political efforts which are occuring. That's o.k., but they need to support those of us who are in the fore front fighting the battles.
I'm quite happy that Dianne is scheduling and hosting chats. This is what grass roots is all about. I will post her schedule and information as soon as I recieve it. Anyone else who would like to host a chat is invited to do so. Chats can be scheduled as a one time chat (for a specific subject), or as an ongoing schedule. Chats do not need to be topic specific to tubal ligation or women's health - we could do chats on 911, home schooling, our pets, or what ever topic one want to host or talk about.
The main idea is community, getting to know each other, and so on.
We could also have quest chats hosted by doctors, authors, etc... Just write me a note on who you'd like to be invited.
