Dear Courtney,
Hello! I am so sorry for what you are going through. I can not count the times I have cried because of what has happened to my body because of the tubal I had three years ago. Keep searching untill you get the answers you are looking for.
A few suggestions: see an endocrinologist( a specialist)......get your hormone levels tested to see where you are at before.....I repeat before you are treated with any HRT or Birth control pills! Daily exercise will help with depression and the fusteration of what you are going through.
High estrogen level is one of the most common contributing factors to breast cancer. It is common for post-tubal women to have low levels of progestrone.(progestrone cleanses estrogen from the body) If you are experiencing heavy periods you could be suffering from low progestrone levels.
The following web sights may help: www.johnleemd.com (specialist in menopause....but has good info that may help you)
www.progestnet.com (progestrone Advocates Network....lots of good info about hormones and the differences betweem synthetics and natural hormones)

I too have struggeled with anger and depression that I have ended up taking out on my family.......allow yourself to grieve the damage done to your body just like you would grieve any other loss in your life.(lots of crying if needed)
The only way you will know where your doctor stands on the issue of PTS is to talk to him/her. When I talked to my doctor, he told me that he did not "inform" me of possible side effects because he never thought to tell me because only two out of one-hundred women "have these kinds of problems." He said he would do what ever he could to help me....including refering me to an endocrinologist. I have not been back to see him because I no longer trust the doctor who is syposto be my "health care professional!"
You are not alone, Courtney. Hang in there. Keep knocking on doors untill you get answers. You may have to go out of the area you live in to seek help. Talk
with your primary physician first, and if that doesn't help, see a different doctor.......If you can print off some of your research you have done on PTS and take it with you to the doctor appt. It may help to have documented proof of the research you have been doing. Also , check out the support groups in Yahoo.......you might be able to find further support groups for PTS there.
Good Luck......You are in my prayers........(((((hugs for you Courtney)))))
