My opinon, I don't think it matters.
I think why it's stated that younger women suffer more is because they suffer more the "baby regret", not to be confused with phyical PTS happening. Women 22 years old report pelvic pain, as do women who are in their 40's.
A woman in her 40's has less time before a natrual menopause then a woman who is in her 20's. So a woman in her 20's, who decides to "live with it", would have to live with it longer....
