Estrogen and the brain

Well ladies it has been a year from hell and I finally feel like the worst is over. I tried everything under the sun went to Dr. after Dr., even tried bioidentical hormone cream. At first the cream seemed to help, but then I realized I was in real trouble. DEPRESSED, DEPRESSED, DEPRESSED...READY TO LEAVE. Finally I made an appointment with Dr. Elizabeth Vliet (who wrote the book Screaming To Be Heard What Women Know and Drs Still Ignore) and she ran test and put me on birth control pills (which I was againt and thought were so awful for you)and I honest to goodness feel 90% better and I have not been on them for even a full month yet. I strongly suggest that you do the homework and find what is best for you. Read her book. She also has a new book coming out in May called It's My Ovaries Stupid. She is an amazing woman and if taking hormones or birth control pills is what it takes to be able to LIVE again and not be so depressed and have anxiety and mood swings and anger along with all the physical symptoms...well sign me up. I tried for over a year and I had to do something or I was in great danger of losing my family or at least doing irreversable damage to our relationship. I tried antidepressants and they did not do a thing, but give my body that estrogen and I am a functioning human being. Please if you do nothing else get her book and read it before you spend one more day in hell.
