Tubal after childbirth.... hysterectomy three years later
by
I had my tubes tied almost 19 years ago, will be 19 years this July 3rd, after the birth of my son. Then I had a partial hysterectomy when he was about 3 yrs. old. (I came home from hospital two days before I turned 25 years old.)
I had a partial hysterectomy vaginally and they took my uterus, left the ovaries because they were in great shape he said. But, I couldn't tell you if I still have my cervix or not, I just don't remember, to be honest. I assume that it was taken, I had to have a Cone before I had the hysterectomy and my OB/GYN told me that my cervix was VERY ANGRY LOOKING! LOL! I see know reason to leave it, to be honest. I know that sounds weird and I know that I have had Pap Smears since then, not many though, but I just don't remember anyone telling me whether I actually still had my cervix or not. No kidding! (Is there anyway that I personally could discover the truth, without going to a doctor?)
Anyway, I wouldn't have traded the tubal for anything, I had no complications that I could tell at all and I felt so much better knowing that I couldn't get pregnant anymore, that I didn't have to take birth control for years and years, etc... And having the hysterectomy was the best thing to ever happen to me also. I have not had even one single complication or problem, at all, in all these years!
I have wondered today though... Could my hysterectomy have been caused by something done in my tubal ligation, or from it? I have been reading a lot about that today, so I wonder.
