The pill after tubal

by Lily

I too was put on the pill almost 2 years after my tubal. The reason for me was because I was having irregular bleeding, heavy cramping, migraines, no sex drive. My OB said she thought it was all "hormonal" and could be fixed by the pill. The only thing that got fixed was the severity of the cramps. So she put me on the birth control patch, and i am now starting my 3rd month of that. However in May she did a D & C to scrape out any possible polyps that might be causing the irregular bleeding. Of course there were no polyps, but she found that my uterine lining was atrophic (basically almost non existent) and through my bloodwork, my estrogen level is in the post menopausal range...I am only 32. So now she wants to wait another month and see if the patch helps fix the low estrogen, and if it does not I will have to go on HRT...at 32! She is still denying that any of this has to do with my tubal, but how can it not?? The more i research this, the more i realize that the ligation of the tubes totally screws up your hormones and how they can function properly.

I am sure that is why your doc wants you to go on the pill...to cover up the hormonal mess that is going on in your body due to the tubal. The pill did not work for me. I will let you know what happens after my next round of bloodwork after being on the patch for 3 months.

Good Luck!
