Progesterone cream vs synthetic hormones

I had a tubal ligation after my third child and suffered menopausal symptoms because of it. I was put on synthetic estrogen and progesterone for 4 years. Recently I had my hormones tested with saliva and the results came back with no measurable progesterone in my system even though I'd been taking it for four years! The reason I was given is that alot of women don't process the synthetic progesterone at all. Now I am on the estrogen and progesterone cream. I've only been using it for 3 days, and am wondering if any women have used it, and if it was successful for them. Thank you in advance for any input. Janice
