Two years ago, we lived in a large city in MA. When I was pregnant with our third child, insurance providers, doctors, and nurses encouraged me to get a tubal. Their biggest arguement is the cost of raising children. Unfortunately, I agreed. I had to sign a consent form, but the only thing the consent form refered to was the possibility of becoming pregnant again. Ever since I found your site, I have been kicking myself for not doing my homework on this. I feel like such an idiot to have trusted these medical professionals to tell me everything that could possibly result after TL. The worst part is we moved back to VA and I called the ob who delivered my first 2 children here. I have always put so much trust in her and really thought that she would understand. Her solution to my depression and mood swings is to put me on an anti-anxiety medication. According to her, it's normal for women with young children to feel a little anxiety, and she provides this medicine often. When I told her about the pain and irregularities of my periods, she said this could be because I was on the pill. News flash, I haven't been on the pill in 6 years. So then she asked me how old I am. I'll be 32 next month. She said not to worry, she normally sees these same symptoms in women who are in their late 30's. These to me are not normal things. Obviously there is a problem. I have been completely miserable. I have no woman to talk to about this. My husband is very sympathetic and supportive, but I feel like I'm going to drive him crazy talking about it. And obviously, I can't count on my doctor to be honest about it. I don't want to go through menopause by the time I'm 35. I also don't want to have to be on medication for God only knows how many years just to keep my moods under control. Where do you go? What do you do? Who can you trust?
