Family Practioner
by Christine
Just from my limited experience, I can say that my OB/GYN would not even entertain the idea that I was having some kind of hormonal imbalance. Told me I was too young and no need for me to come in the office and have a good day. This was about 2 years ago. Recently I found out about PTLS and took the printed information I got from the internet to my family practioner (also my primary care manager). She is skeptical, but not dismissing it either. When I told her that the ACOG does not recognize PTLS, she responded sarcasticly with "Of course, that figures" and shook her head. She ordered my hormone, thyroid, and CBC tests. It is a start and atleast I got a physician to look at the materials. Maybe you could try something like that?
