Actually, I'm not from Ottawa. Chinook, who tends to post over in the Healing Heart section (though not always) is currently living in Ottawa...at least as far as I can tell from her posts. She's been mentioning recently how tough its been to make friends there unless you are a more native French speaking Canadian. I'm guessing you thought I was from Ottawa because of the post to Adam, comparing Ottawa to London. But I was just comparing Chinook's feelings with what seemed to be a similar response of Adam's W to London.

How's the new house? Have you settled in and made it your own emotionally? I'm hoping that's all going well. It seems like you've been away from the boards recently. Hopefully, with fun activities and adventures. BlueIris

Yes I have been away alot. Been too busy to post, although I do read a couple times a week.

I find the city I live in to be horrible for making friends. I've tried after the divorce, but it is a definite struggle and one which I have always had a problem with.

You'd think I would be okay with meeting strangers given that I'm currently Chairing our local accounting chapter. Quite the opposite -I forced myself to accept the nomination knowing I would have to get out of my comfort zone.

Yup, I'm the one in the Ottawa area (and I gripe way too much about it.) It is a gorgeous city with many wonderful museums. I loved it when I came as a tourist 4 years ago (long before I got married).

For the record, a chinook is a) a warm wind found coming off the Rockies in Alberta, b) a type of B.C. salmon, c)a military helicopter and possibly d) a B.C. indian tribe and/or region
