I've been thinking....

I've been doing a lot of thinking lately....most of you can probably see the smoke coming from my brain...LOL

There was a thread on here and I can't remember which one, but the direction the thread took was basically the Ten Commandments and how Adultry was taken more lightly then the rest of the Commandments.

The other day I was sitting in a restaurant and a man across from me had a T-shirt on which read, "What part of thou shalt not, did you not understand"? The first thing that popped into my head was the thread on this site.

I'm sure many of you see billboards which have a picture of a fetus or newborn baby and there underneath the picture is listed "Thou shall not kill". I wish there were a group out there that would buy billboards with a child crying, or a man/woman in tears and list the Commandment on Adultry.

We all here know that the effects of an A go way beyond the two people having the A. It involves, parents, children, friends, coworkers, everyone involved in any of the parties lives. How many people die as a result of a jealous spouse who has found out about an A? How many have committed suicide because of an A? How many children have grown up not knowing how to treat their spouse in a loving respectful way because they had no positive role model in their life. I think we as a society have become blind to Adultry. We look at it as a human weakness, I believe that some people even expect infidelity to touch their lives. What can we do? How can we change the way people look at this? I want to become proactive, not just sit back and watch my world become a place where god and family are no longer a priority, but what can you do?

This post has rambled enough....just thinking outloud.

Dawn

This is interesting Dawn.

I don't have any good ideas right now, but your discussion brings to mind a sermon I once heard, where the pastor showed that in order to commit adultery, most people also violate most of the ten commandments. For example, it usually involves lie, stealing time and money, coveting (desiring) another person's family and life, etc.
