My brother is autistic..when he was tested in the early 50's my parents were told to put him in an institution because he would never speak or communicate... Today he is a self-sufficient wonderful man..my parents hired tutors to help my brother when he was young.. he can use a computer and does e-mailing with the family.

I was visiting my daughter in Fla last week and there was a lot of information on the news about autism and teaching people about early intervention.. so many good things are happening for the autistic child today that wasn't available 50 yrs ago.
