Sure, but the QB is more important than the system IMO.
The 2005 Steelers were 3rd in rushing 16th in passing. They won a Superbowl though because they had a great defense and a franchise QB.
You want to drive the bus over the coaching and system, failing to realize that if Andy Dalton was trying to run Drew Brees' or Tom Brady's systems that they run, thinking that the NFL is just like a video game. It CAN be that way if you have time and the right QB. Obviously Carson Palmer was not that QB, and I don't see that in Dalton either.
Granted, you can run simpler passing offenses (Norv Turner's 70s-early 90s old school vertical passing game that he still runs comes to mind), but even there Phillip Rivers is a good fit and IMO is not as book smart as someone like a Brady/Manning/Ben/Brees/Rodgers. But the alternative is balance and or variances of the West Coast offense, which is the direction that Jay Gruden plans to go. Andy Dalton can do that for the same reasons that Jon Kitna, Jake Delhomme, Trent Green, Jeff Garcia, etc had at some point very productive careers despite none of those guys having cannon arms to the extent even Dalton has let alone Rodgers or Rivers.
I agree with you that the Jets are not winning a Superbowl this year, but I think it is more the QBs (Sanchez and Tebow! Yikes) than the playcalling. Being a Ravens fan would be frustrating...but again, it's the QB and not the system. Flacco is better than his critics believe but worse than his stats and his best days indicate. Not sure if he can win a Superbowl, but they have a great head coach and coaching staff...if they win a Superbowl they will need Flacco to play at his best more frequently, but I'm not sold on them just because Flacco is Flacco. As for the Texans, people forget that the team that won a playoff game against the Bungs last year had their THIRD STRING QB playing. Schaub is a franchise QB and very well can win a Superbowl. I am not thrilled with their coaching but they have a QB in place...their downfall if anything could be health or losing Mario Williams, not offensive playcalling or system.
