Many of these reforms should have been started back in the 70's after the gas shortage first came about. Too many years of Repub controlled Congress and Presidents unwilling to step up to the plate.
People on the right (and Murf) detest change, even when its in their best long term interest. I cant say I am surprised. Its like trying to explain universal coverage to them (hey, if your kid gets cancer, you wont be wiped out or hey, if your wife gets breast cancer, you wont be wiped out or hey, if you shoot yourself on a hunting trip, you wont be financially wiped out). You dont hear to many people in the military and government complaining about their health care, but those people dont count, right? LOL
Gas should be taxed. As well as booze and smokes (and weed, ect).
