I usually don't bother with you homey but i'm constantly taken with your ignorance.
you act as though being tolerant means being a doormat. that it means that you overlook
hypocrisy, accept injustice and generally don't defend yourself.
Tolerance means respect for other cultures and other peoples, respect for basic human rights and respect for others mores and folkways. Tolerance has as much in common with libertarianism as it does with liberalism.
Tolerance recognizes that there are injustices in the world that create a cascade of events that puts those not in the privileged classes at risk at greater risk of ... well not acting like those in the privileged classes.... and that if one is in a privileged class, it is a worthy endeavor to work to be more culturally competent in understanding the values of other cultural perspectives.
People that are tolerant are most defensive around people in the privileged classes that are not tolerant. why is that??? well because people in that class that are not tolerant are ignorant, selfish, and self righteous... see mirror. Behaviors such as hate, self imposed ignorance, self righteousness, selfishness and hypocrisy are in my opinion intolerable.
I can be tolerant of people like archie bunker... I can not be tolerant of people like Sara Palin... do you see a difference?
