I HAVE read up on this woman. And what I've read only reinforces my opinion. And for the record the law clerks (plural) who have criticized her temperament are also joined by at least two of her collegues on the 2nd Circuit. Other law clerks who work for other judges in the 2nd circuit have joined with this criticism. She's been called a "bully on the bench", a "blowhard", "not very brainy" and not always able to grasp the underlying principles of the arguments among other things.
Several former prosecutors have criticized her opinions, although competent, as not being clean or tight and that sometimes she misses the forest for the trees. Others have said she has an "inflated opinion of herself" and is "domineering during oral arguments." During one argument one of her judicial colleagues is said to have leaned over to her and said "Will you please stop talking and let them talk?"
So you call these issues laughable and claim they come from Sean Hannity or Bill Cunningham. But these are the issues that will be brought up in her confirmation hearings and they are certainly not trivial. I won't accuse you of standing up for her because you listen to Keith Olberman too much. And regarding her past political affiliations, I'd say this; If Judge Alito had been a past member of some right wing extremist group the lefties would have crapped a squealing blue goose and he wouldn't have even made it into the Senate chambers let alone being confirmed. So let's treat her with the same scrutiny that conservative judges had to endure from the lefties on the Judiciary Committee. If it was good for them it's good for her. She doesn't get a free pass.
Like I said before, most of her decisions have been competent even if her narratives have missed the underlying constitutional points and even though 5 out of her 7 reviewed decisions have been overturned. So let's give her a fair hearing and see how she answers some hard questions. Surely you won't suggest the Senate rubber stamp her confirmation just because worshipful leader chose her? Laughable? Baloney!
