MJ was no different than the early Beatles. In 1964 thru early 65 the Beatles were the most famous people on the planet....and their music SUCKED. I mean it was teeny bopper garbage. Not until they released Rubber Soul in later 65 did they actually start producing real music. If you go to any classic rock station you NEVER hear any of the Beatles early stuff.

Fact is Michael Jackson the entertainer hasn't produced anything of substance for a very long time and honestly his big legendary hits are basically garbage. Besides the collaborated effort of We are the World, Jacksons music was nothing more than commercialized garbage wrapped around a great choreographer and dancer. The idea that his music will be revered for generations is highly unlikely just at most of Elvis' music is pretty much forgotten or rather ignored.

I can pick individual groups like Three Dog Night, The Band, Traffic etc.. who produced significantly more intricate and well thought of music without even having to resort to the real power groups of the 70s and 80s like Boston, Van Halen, Led Zep, The Who etc.. Even Abba and the Bee Gees produced better overall music.

The idea that Neverland will become some sort of tourist attraction is a stretch. To somehow believe that all of the players involved will actually agree to do something of that nature is laughable. The scum that surrounded MJ will all be fighting for a piece of the pie and that pie will never make it to the oven. Don't forget, Pricilla Presley was the ONLY player involved with Elvis' estate. She had the ability to do what she wanted and she has tastefully done the King justice. Do you really expect that with the scum who surrounded Michael to include many of his family his legacy will be immortalized like Presley? No way.

I wont get into any of the other weird stuff. My opinion is based on his body of musical work and I am sorry but his music lacked any real substance.

In the end, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and the Beatles will eventually repass MJ as their music is timeless.
