Sam, thanks for the roundup of the league's offenses. What is your criteria for the West Coast designation? Do you award it based on style of play, even if the terminology is different from Bill Walsh's? I'm not trying to be argumentative; just curious.
By the way, the Wikipedia article on this topic is a travesty. Don't you know that there are two types of West Coast offenses, even though they're completely different? Paul Zimmerman once wrote that the name should rightfully go to Don Coryell's system, but the vagaries of media coverage pushed it on Bill Walsh's endeavor. So let's be pedantic, Wikipedia, and correct an affront to typological integrity. Who cares if it confuses the reader with totally unnecessary detail while making parts of the article unreadable?
