Outside of Green and Dalton (and I'm still not quite ready to classify the latter as a genuine star yet) who have the Bungs drafted that have really become stars in the last five years? There is a fairly simple reason why the Bungs have been forced to take flyers on toxic, and sometimes aged, head cases that no one else wanted: The bungs have been desperate for players.

Not all of their top picks have been laughingstock busts like Rivers and Caldwell and Coffman. But the best of their picks usually amount to nothing more than average players, like Rey Rey has been.

Maybe the tight end will rank up there in the next season or two. But that just makes the point once again. The best the bungs can draft seems to hit the standard of: maybe he can be a star.

Isn't it kind of early in the year to be Mikey's fluffer in this fashion, Murf? I thought you'd be in training until after the draft.
