Carted off field!

Dorsey out
Posted by MarkCurnutte at 6/12/2008 2:52 PM EDT on Cincinnati.com

-- Running back DeDe Dorsey was taken off the field this morning on a cart. He left the stadium this afternoon on crutches. No official word on his injury is available from the Bengals.
-- National media from ESPN, NFL Network, The New York Times and Yahoo Sports are here covering the opening of Bengals minicamp and the Chad Johnson drama.

Way to start off camp.  We already have uncertainty with Rudi and a healing Irons.  Is Alexander still available?

Jeremi Johnson is out of shape too:

Which is where Coats comes in. A free-agent out of BYU who played all but one game his rookie season last year, Coats made the club with a devotion to special teams and an ability to get his nose dirty in the running game.

Now with the Bengals not exactly enamored with Jeremi Johnson's conditioning, he's getting a shot to move from tight end to fullback. The way they see it, that would give them one player for two spots.

"It gives us alternatives," Bratkowski said. "Jeremi's not in great shape. I'm not sure we can rely on him, so we've got to find somebody else. In the long run, it's going to make Coats a better football player because he's still playing both tight end and fullback."

It's starting already.  Bengal fans, retrieve your hearts, prepare for them to be stomped on.

That's a shame - I thought Dorsey was the best RB on the roster last year.

I actually liked DeDe's running last year in the games I watched. Hard runner. Would have been a great 1-2 punch for Watson, IF SOMEBODY would actually call running plays.

Oh well. Maybe having 25 RBs on the roster isn't such a bad deal after all. Maybe Mike Brown does this after the Chris Sherry and Irons injuries? Who knows what really goes on in Mikey's Brain--if anything at all?

The kid from Kansas St is still getting rave reviews.

I always hold out hope for an Irons miracle!

I had my doubts about Dorsey being durable enough in the RB thread. I like him as an option and hope it's not too serious.

BTW Katie, love the pic. lol.
