Not sure if any of you caught the McCaughlin group last weekend, but Monica Crowley (huge conservative talk show host) discussed some of the idiotic things people are doing to cast lies about Obama and the Dems. She stated it is having the reverse effect as more people are starting to view crazy things like the guy in the story above as being radical and untruthful.

I think I am beginning to agree with her. The more crazy and ignorant some of the Repubs get with their lies and falsehoods, the more the averahe voter is leaning left.

What used in 2000 and 2004 for the repubs also failed to work in 2006 and will fail again in 2008.

I have had some of my own family members fwd me on some of these email hoax's such as the one where Obama is not covering his heart during the pledge allegence. I always do a respond back to ALL with the link from snopes.com debunking the untruth to embarrass them.

It sickens me to think that some of my own family acts and lives in an environment where they believe this crap. But then again they are from Cincinnati.....

We stayed in a cabin owned by my buddy's parents. I was helping his mom make breakfast one morning and she asked me who I was supporting in the race. I told her "Obama". She looked at me and shook her head. I kinda laughed and said "Whats wrong with that?"

She looked at me and whispered, "Bronco, he is a muslim and represents the anti-christ".

I was stunned. This is a fairly intelligent woman and she really thinks this is true. I'm not sure whether to be angry or pity her for her ignorance.

Falcon, its Brianhead. Anyone with half a brain that lives in the Western United States knows that Brianhead is a skiing/snowboarding town and the cabins are owned by folks from out of state (normally Vegas).

The point is that these people are nice, normally logical, friends of mine.

The conversation could (and probably should have) taken place in Vegas when we were out 99% of the other times. Geography isnt a variable because both parties are from Las Vegas.
