Carson Palmer is a man of few words. Wait, did we say "few"? We mean "ill-chosen and recklessly incendiary." When on a Los Angeles-area radio show this past Thursday, the USC alum had this to say about Ohio State fans:
I cannot stand the Buckeyes.
Well, that's not a very nice thing to
It's amazing to hear what those guys think about that university and what they think about that football program and Tressel and all the crap I gotta put up with being back there.
Okay, you've made your point, Carso
I just can't wait for two years from now when SC comes to the 'Shoe and hopefully we'll have a home game that weekend and I can go up there and watch us pound on them in their own turf
Carson.
I'm really getting sick of it and I just can't wait for this game to get here so they can come out to the Coliseum and experience LA and get an old-fashioned Pac-10 butt-whoopin' and go back to the Big Ten.
Okay. Let's get you home.
Granted, the vitriol is probably comically overstated, as he was talking to sports radio jockeys in USC's backyard. Also, unlike some people, he didn't bring up genocide. Still, this being the age of the Internet, we're more than happy to share woofing like that when Carson Palmer's name is attached to it. We're not trying to discourage it, of course; this is ten thousand times better than the boilerplate "looking to go out there and compete" phrases that typically come out of athletes' mouths.
Palmer may, however, want to avoid taking shots at a team that's a heck of a lot more popular--and successful--than his Bengals.

Defending your team (USC) is one thing, but bashing some of the same fans that support your team that pays your salary is quite foolish. It makes me question whether he does have a brain. Because if no one buys your jersey here (Ohio) , then certainly no one is buying your jersey elsewhere.
Palmer is a flippin poptart. We will see when OSU plays your little rubbers this year.

I love it. Buckeye fans are the most pompous SOB sports fans you've ever met. Just recently, one of them sent a letter to the Columbus Dispatch complaining that there was "too much coverage of the Blue Jackets." Sorry, they should have known that the 5-page expose on an incoming freshman should take precedent over free-agency.

Buckeye fans the most pompous??? You obviously have never met a USC fan. The biggest difference between the Buckeye and Trojan fans?? Check the USC attendance during the bad years prior to Carroll getting there....lots of empty seats. That would never happen at OSU. Even if he thinks this way, it's just STUPID to say. Alot of Bengals fans are bigger OSU fans and they will let him know it."
These two comments are from the article from Carson's empty friggin' whining. Dan's really true. Ever notice how USC Fans don't show if they have a couple of off years? Dan's right. That would never happen at OSU. Even through the Cooper Years when they couldn't beat MeatChicken.
In truth, I can't wait for this facking game. Neither can any other Buckeye Fan. I hope we really do shove it up Opie-Carson's azz. No lube. Opie can kizz my two huge Buckeye Nutz. This dude really doesn't have a brain in his head. Take a look at the facts:
1. Habitually drinks Mikey F. Brown's "Fruity" Punch
2. Can't figure out why the Bungles have lost during his tenure at QB
3. Has exactly ONE winning season as a QB of the Bungles
4. Says this comment about the state he plays football in--Yo Opie, if you haven't already noticed, most Cincinnati Collegiate Sports Fans ARE BUCKEYE FANS!!!! What a putz!!!!!
5. Is overrated--and won't accept real responsibility at calling out his players in the lockerroom. AKA--see the Chad Situation
So, since he opened his cakehole, let's take a look at the advantages of the USC/OSU Game:
1. QB--I'll say Buckeyes, since the Condoms are not sold on Sanchez at QB
2. RB--Bucks, definitely
3. OL--Bucks
4. Receiving Corps--Buckeyes
5. DL--Tie
6. LB'ers--Come'on--really--OSU
7. DB's--Tie
8. Special Teams--Tossup
9. Coaching--I'll give Carroll the nod here because Pete Carroll's Crew does make adjustments on the defensive side of the ball. However, you have to give Tressel special mention, due to his making the National Championship Game 3 times out of his 1st 6 years at OSU. Carroll hasn't even done that.
Speaking of coaching, I remember when OSU was in decision to hire a coach to replace Cooper. How much of a "disaster" would the hiring of Glen Mason been? I think MeatChicken would have owned Mason. Mason was just fired at Minnesota this last year. I guess the Gophers got sick of going 7-4 every year and making a piddly bowl game in the middle of December? That's not bad considering the aftermath of less than mediocrity after Mason's firing. What I'm trying to say is--what a great decision by OSU to hire one of their most successful coaches ever in Jim Tressel instead of hiring "just another coach" in Glen Mason. Nice job by OSU there.
I just wish Tressel would make gametime adjustments. That's all. Especially defensively. Sheesh. That's one thing that does scare me about this game at USC.

Glenn Mason is a good coach....he just cant retain his in state recruits. Wisky, scUM, and OSU poach his top talent year after year. Its not his fault...who wants to play on artificial turf in the metrodome. Although I think they begin play in a new stadium this year on campus. But they still wont attract the top southern kids who want to play at UF, FSU, and the U.
But Glenn would of been a good coach with OSU....not as good as Tressell ...but good.

Tressel is responsible for the offensive play calling, not the defensive playcalling. He is the head coach, but he has a system in place in which Heacock call the plays for the defense.
In all honesty, I cant wait for Heacock to leave and Fickel to take over the defense.

I certainly don't hate the Buckeyes and grew up idolizing them. But all rhetoric aside, I sort of see Carson's point about how irrationally rabid some of OSU's modern fans are.
When you pad your early schedule with the likes of Akron and Kent State, and then play a shamefully second rate conference schedule with the likes of Indiana, Michigan and various other pretenders, no one should be that perplexed when the Buckeyes get clobbered in a Bowl Game. Yet their adoring fans convince themselves that the losses are some sort of coaching flukes.
Which reminds me of some Bengal fans

Falcon,
USC's Defensive Tackles are worlds better than ours. I give them the nod on Dl.
The linebackers are closer than you think - they have a couple of Butkus award candidiates in Manlauga and the other dude (can't remember his name).
Running backs are also closer. YEs, we have the best in the country, but they have 4 "5 Star" running backs that play there. I think McKnight is their bell cow, but I'm not sure.
QB's are also even. yeah, Sanchez is not proven, but Boeckman hasnt won a big game yet. I want to see him throw 4TD's and 300 yards before I annoint him King Buckeye.

When you complain about a team's football schedule, you show me that you dont know much about college football. UNLESS you complain to the NCAA as a whole - dont bitch about OSU's schedule. At least they are smart.
Look at every single top 50 school. What do all of their pre-conf schedules have in common? Most have schedule 2-3 cupcakes and the one big game. OSU is smart enough to schedule those cupcakes with teams from Ohio. Why? To keep the money in state!! Why pay Lousiana Technical Institute $500,000 to have them come to the shoe to play? You keep that money in house and help build your in state programs.
OSU makes out their schedule 4-5 years in advance. It's not their fault that when that 4-5 years roll around that team sucks. Its not OSU fault that the conference has faltered, Its not OSU fault that it got picked to go to the BCS title game last year. They were not supposed to be there but they made it in due to the system. So dont hate the player...hate the game!
OSU is making advancements to not only become a premier top football school, but also an academic school as well.
Hate all you want - but give them credit!

On Monday, Palmer retreated a bit from his previous comments. The Bengals public relations staff sent out this comment, which I received this morning from Bengals PR director Jack Brennan.
Palmer: "I'm a Trojan all the way, and I was talking to a Trojan audience in California. I guess I got a little fired up, as all good fans will do. But I really do respect the Buckeyes, and I know their fans are passionate, too. I hope they all understand I'm just looking forward to a big game for my school against a very tough opponent, and that it's all in the good fun of a rivalry. You don't have a real rivalry unless both sides are great teams."
i wonder if his agent came to him and said " what the f**k is wrong with you? You only sell 12 jerseys a year in this city - now you blast their loyalty to thier college team? No wonder chad has no respect for you you clown."
Another BS attempt to cover tracks. This should of been his response in the first place. He has no respect for OSU. So dont lie to me now.

TITR,
The reality of the situation is this really doesn't matter in Cincy as compared to other Ohio cities. Cincy has always been known (as well as Toledo) as having the lowest percentage of OSU backers in the state.
It was a stupiud comment, but not one that will have ever come back to haunt him except on message boards. Like I said before, I don't care. We will see if his boys can back it up in 55 days or so...

If USC can't back it up--then Opie Cunningham Carson's definitely going to hear about it. We'll also see in the 1st game at Riverfr---errrrrrrrrr--PBS Stadium if he gets boo'ed or not.
And I'm not so sure that Cincy is the worst OSU backed city in Ohio. I thought that "honor" would go to Toledo, since they have the Rackets/being closer to Ann Arbor the Whore.
Why are you backing this bonehead, Bronco? It was a dumb comment said to his fans IN OHIO. Regardless of who it was aimed for, he plays for a team in OHIO.
Doesn't change the fact that Carson's a dumbazz for all the reasons I stated above and for saying this sh*t too.

So the guy is a fan, and has a geographic preference relative to where he lived, and played. Wow, what a crazy a-hole he is.
If that makes him a dumbass, than you all can sign your names right behind his on the list of dumbasses.
At least he doesn't lie to you. Let the guy be a fan of the college team he wants for G's sake. It's not like he said he roots for the Steelers or Browns, it's the freakin' minor leagues after all.
I know what would make you cry babies feel better. How about he punches Leon hall in the face in the locker room, and then spits on Chris Perry after stomping on and buckling his pathetically frail knee? Would you buy his jersey then? Would it make you feel better?

That's not it. I've lived in California for 5 years now. Nobody out here gives a damn about collegiate football. You can tell because USC has problems selling out the Coliseum on a GOOD YEAR. You can also tell because 4 years ago (which I'll never forget and neither will the door which I made a hole in)--the MeatChicken OSU Game had National Championship implications written all over it. What was shown on the regional coverage here? NOT THE FACKING GAME, THAT'S FOR SURE. REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP BULLRIDING. No joke. I got to see Billy Bob, Tex, and Joe Bob get bucked off the meanest bull in Sactown. BS and WTF?!?!?!??!?!? Oh well--it was off to the local sports bar and to Home Depot to repair the newly formed spy hole in the door roughly the size of my dickbeater.
I can't imagine Southern California being any different come fall. They're probably more concerned with the Raiders than the Trojans. Just pathetic.

The point is you dont screw with your bread and butter. Cincy may not have the most buckeye fans - but they do have enough. Carson should of kept it professional no matter how much he hates the buckeyes. It seems his jealousy got the best of him. Which seems to be a trend.

I'm not complaining about the Bucks' schedule. I'm just pointing out that their fans get intoxicated by wins over low level teams like Akron, Kent State, Indiana, et. al., and then they squeal in confused anguish when an SEC or PAC 10 team humiliates them in January.
Those losses aren't hard to explain. In fact, they are predictable.

Well,
I lived in San Diego for 3 years and I can honestly say those folks dont give two sh!ts about college sports. Obviously, they dont have much tradition with SDSU, USD, UCSD and Point Loma Nazarene being the only universities with sports down there.
The interesting thing is how much California folks like to pimp the academics of their "UC" schools. What is even more interesting is those same people blasted me for my degree from OSU (#2 ranked public university in the nation). The even funnier thing is all the kids from my law school that went to OSU (8 or 9 kids) graduated. 4 guys I knew from UC schools in my class alone dropped out or failed out. LOL

Welcome to California, now go home. Consider that USC plays in the Coliseum, that building where the 1932 Olympics were held. USC is in South Central LA, not the best neighborhood. Florence and Normandy is a famous street corner within a short distance to the field. The Coliseum is off campus. Southern California is akin to a foreign country. If they played in a decent area and your safety wasn't an issue, they'd sell tickets to the regular Joe Public. As it is, it is mostly students and alums, that's it. The alums watch the games on their beach front property on 60 inch flat screens. bronco, brush up on your Spanish, you'll need it order to read any signs down there. There are over 30 ethnic populations here that have higher population numbers in Los Angeles County than their home capital cities. You put Mexico vs Brazil, Mexico vs El Salvador in the Coliseum for a football (soccer match) and it sells out in less than 1 hour, standing room only, packed to the gills. Its a different demographic here folks. Columbus, Ohio is worlds away from Los Angeles. Usually, the only games that truly sell out are ND and UCLA. You got to realize there is more than USC in this area. There are at least 8 Cal State campuses within 100 miles of downtown Los Angeles...(CSU Long Beach, CSU Northridge, CSU San Bernadino, CSLA, CSUChannel Islands, CSU Domiquez Hills, Cal Poly Pomona, CS Fullerton), in addition there is UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, UCLA, UC Irvine, Occidental, Cal Tech, Pepperdine and the San Diego schools (about 150 miles or so) bronco mentioned, right down the road. So yeah, no one cares when they lose and the usual suspects are wearing the gear when they win. LA is proud of its flakiness.

The interesting that about many Californians is that after a few years of living there, they consider themselves to be "locals" when they are really still transplants. LOL
There are many things to love in Cali - the girls, the beach, the sushi, the mexican food, napa, ect. However, the state also has its fair share of issues too.
Also, you never hear about El Centro, Fresno, Bakersfield, Barstowe, Sacramento or Baker in the news. Cali keeps those places quiet. Those places are some real sh!t holes. LOL - Actually anything in Central Cali and Eastern cali (with the exception of Napa, Tahoe, Sonoma and Yosemite is either a death trap or a sh!thole)
Nevada is the same outside of Vegas and Reno (ok and Tahoe)

Let's be fair bronco, that is like asking me to know something about Warren Portsmouth, Akron, Toledo or any other dumpy city in Ohio. Who cares. BTW, the Eastern Sierras are amazing (Mammoth and June Mountain areas) but keep telling everyone it is a terrible place...just got back from a 10 day backpack trip on the John Muir trail. World class skiing (winter) and trophy trout fishing everywhere.
To your point about Cali natives, no one really cares. This entire place is transplants. The natives are the minority. I've been here decades and still tell folks I'm from Cincinnati. If we could only ship Falc back to Ohio.
Baker - world's tallest thermometer...lol, Barstow, Bakersfield...all just rest stops on the way to somewhere else.
Fresno - San Juaquin Valley, a major supplier of food for the country. Without it this country would starve.
Don't kid yourself, California is a major economic player on the world stage. If California was it's own country it would rank as one of the top ten largest economies in the world. Vegas would not exist if not for California.

Falc and USC3 make good points I would take it even a step further and say that pro sports aren't followed very well out here either. The majority seem to be fair weather fans, well niner fans are the worst at that. Raider fans seem to be pretty rabid and a bit thuggish. Sure there are a number of good fans out here, but that seems to be the exception where as when I lived in Ohio it seemed that everyone seemed to know at least a little about their local team imo. Could be different in other areas, but that has been my experience anyway.
Homey your ignorance knows no bounds does it? Just so you know that shallow minded, uninformed opinions are everywhere. When I first got out of the military I enrolled at a CSU and some friends and I were talking and when they found out I was from Ohio they asked if that is where all the inbreeds live. So there are fools like you that live everywhere, imo the sooner people just accept that folks are folks and don't worry about other peoples business the sooner we can move forward. No offense dude, but for someone who says he "just doesn't want it shoved in his face all the time" you sure do make an awful lot of unistigated jabs. Oh yeah you have a lot of nerve talking about riots....lol.
Bronco, how many years do you have to live here to consider yourself local? Yes there are a lot of nice things about living here and yes it has issues too, just like any other state. The reason you don't hear much about those places is because they are small and yes they are pits. Also I would not consider Napa or Sonoma to be central or eastern california, in fact I know Sonoma county is considered to be part of the Bay area not sure about Napa, but it is right next door to Sonoma. While I'll agree Sonoma is nice and even though it may be considered part of the Bay area it is worlds away, has a very old west kinda feel to it and there is a ton of money there with all the Wineries. Napa on the other hand not even close its more of a farm area the major crop being grapes ofcourse, yes they have lots of wineries too, but the owners don't live there only the folks who run them or pick the grapes. By the way the UC schools are very good institutions, but that's not to say they can't turn out some real turds sometimes. The folks who do the yackin' are usually the ones who got something to hide, but that goes with anyone from anywhere.

Hook - when was the last time OSU played a Pac 10 school in January? The last one I remember is when we last played in the Rose bowl and played ASU and WON.
We usually play in the BCS championship game...not the lowly Rose bowl. haha. (that was a joke)
We as buckeye fans were very surprised at the azz beating we took against UF.....I was stunned!! I was brainwashed into thinking it would be the other way around. I still think the LSU game was alot closer than the score. OSU had the better stats over the course of that game....except on the scoreboard..which counts. We had one crappy quarter where we blew it.
I think the last time we lost to a Pac 10 school was against UCLA when Justin Vargas was there. And that was regular season game.
I dont think the Big 10 is inferior to any conference..... look at the big 10 overall bowl record against the SEC or Pac 10. You take away OSU's misfortunes against the SEC and the Big 10 dominates. I admit we cant seem to beat an SEC team.

"I dont think the Big 10 is inferior to any conference..... look at the big 10 overall bowl record against the SEC or Pac 10. You take away OSU's misfortunes against the SEC and the Big 10 dominates. I admit we cant seem to beat an SEC team."
The analysts take what OSU has done for the last 2 years in the BCS National Title Game. They take what the Big 10 has done in other BCS Bowls (think Illinois last year). And they also take what other Big "11" opponents do in their out of conference games (think MeatChicken/App State last year)--and they feel that the Big "11" is down and out. BS. T is right on this one. OSU has been to a BCS Bowl Game for the past 3 or 4 years. It seems that the Buckeyes love Tempe, AZ. They always seem to go to the Fiesta Bowl AND WIN.
What analysts seem to forget about the Big 10--is that they don't have a conference championship. Most Big 10 Schools are done with their games in NOVEMBER. Then they have to wait 50 something days to play another game in their Bowl Game in January. That's sort of like starting a whole new season again. No wonder how OSU goes in cold during those games.
Here's another thing to think about--the Big 10 is supposedly going through some "down years" for the last 5 years. If that's the case, then why does the Big 10 have just as many PRO PLAYERS as any other conference does? Think about it--Mendenhall, Plax, Terry Glenn--hell, even Ron facking Dayne's fatazz is still being utilized. Think about how many offensive linemen come out. MeatChicken's Long was one of the 1st picks of the draft. Just think about how many defensive players will be coming out next year from OSU (that's scary for Buckeye Fans--but who cares? The Buckeyes don't have rebuilding years--they'll be simply re-loading).
So we have 4 or 5 teams in the Big 10 that can actually challenge for the title. OSU, Wisconsin, Penn State, Illinois (no way I'm ever counting out Ron Zook again--he outcoached Tressel last year), and to me, you really can't count out MeatChicken, ever. Michigan, unfortunately, sells itself--regardless of what idiot is coaching there.
To me--if there is an overrated conference, it's the ACC!!!!!! Come'on. Boston College actually challenged for the title last year. BC!??!?!?!??!?!?!??!? BC didn't have anything outside of Ryan--and they looked like sh*t going up against Va Tech in the Championship. Look at the conference overall--at the top, you supposedly have Va Tech (which can't get over the shooting), Florida State (which has an absolute fossil as a coach who can't compete at a high level anymore--if you don't believe me--take a look at how OOOOOOOOGLY their offense has been for the last 5 years), and I guess BC. Miami is supposed to be an elite school too--however, they went 5-7 last year (and got into an on-field altercation with Florida International!!! Florida International!?!?!??!?!?!?). WTF!?!??!?!?? That conference is a mess! These guys go outside the league and get their azzes kicked. Clemson's supposed to be a good team in that conference too--but they have a coach that's supposed to be good--that chokes every year. How sick are you of Clemson getting ranked too high and falling off the radar when they get their azzes handed to them in their out-of-confence games at the beginning of the year? These guys aren't any better than the Big East, which is actually EMERGING as a conference with UC, South Florida (who was grossly overrated last year), Rutgers, and UCONN. Should I mention WV? Thanks, DickRod those fans should be saying. DickRod really facked that program up (LMAO @ Whore ANNARBOR for hiring that idiot).
The PAC-10 is actually a mess too. You have 3 to 4 teams that challenge USC every year. But there's USC in this conference--then there's everybody else. Oregon, ASU, Cal, and UCLA will always challenge USC--but USC is clearly the team to beat in this conference. I stand by my word that USC loses at least 3 games this year.
I won't even mention the Big 12 being a decent conference either. Not when you have weakazzed Kansas and Mizzou at the top of the conference last year. No way that should EVER happen. That's a fluke. Oklahoma and Texas are always at the top of the list--but this conference is down. Especially when you don't have a Nebraska in the mix. Tom Osborne has a lot of work in front of him if he wants to clean that mess up. Texas A&M chokes every year and Texas Tech is a gimmick pretender with a gimmick offense.
To me--the true conference that gives a real mean-on is the SEC. Every team can beat anybody on any given Saturday. They have more NFL Players right now than anybody. LSU, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, and Auburn. Wow. What a conference. That's 7 teams that can challenge for the conference title in any given year. They beat each other up every year too. That's probably why they perform so well in big games. And you can't count out the little guys either--like Kentucky, Vanderbilt, or Arkansas. Hell, even Mississippi State (who is perennially aweful) went 7-5 last year--and Ole Miss can beat you even though they were sorry last year.
As far as conferences goes, there it is, IMO.

"To me--if there is an overrated conference, it's the ACC!!!!!! DickRod really facked that program up (LMAO @ Whore ANNARBOR for hiring that idiot)."
Wow. Have to pat myself on the back on this one. With Va Tech and Clemson both losing--you have to admit I called this one. Especially this:

Don't be too hard on Palmer. After all, all those hard knocks on the field as a result of a poor offensive line are probably beginning to take a toll on his reasoning abilities. Next year he will be drooling down the side of his mouth saying how good it was to win another NCG with USC last year.
