Well at least this crap happens to SEC running backs too!!

This saddens me because I really was looking forward to seeing him play. This team is just cursed under mike fukkin brown.

Another high draft pick with zero production and wasted potential.

I'm stunned...I had high hopes for this kid.

$20 says somebody picks him up in 2009 and he destroys us...

Bronco's right

July 25 2008, 10:49 AM

What a draft pick, eh? However, Bronco's right--you can't really fault the kid for injury. Furthermore, you can fault Mike Brown for NOT doing something else with that pick--say a defensive non-skill player pick. That would have been much more genius than wasting this pick on Irons. JMHO.

What a damned shame. I think this guy's done--forever.

Well it's a good thing we signed Michael Turner or we would have been screwed.

The Bengals knew his career was over yet they signed no one.

FUCH YOU MIKE BROWN!

Swamp, did you see the Ludwig at Large blog post on Nicknames: Legend of ‘The Swamp Rat’? Just curious about what you thought of it. Interesting stories about the stewardess and the origin of the moniker.

I was listening to him on 1530 talking about that and immediatly thought of SR, Dewey? are you the real Dewey Warren?

My guess is he passes thru waivers and we resign him. He gets put on IR and rehabs another year. It was a pretty serious injury.

"Warren's offense turned every running play into a passing play, and overwhelmed defenses with four and five receivers, coming from every possible position in the offense."

Sounds like Bob Drunkowski styled offenses. We, as Bungle Fans, love it.

He's a legend in my mind. He's a pioneer of the mile-high club:

"Legend has it that Warren made love to a stewardess under a blanket on a Bengals’ team flight in 1968."

Nice. Dewey--can you verify?!?!?!?!???!?!!?!?!?

SF2,

His dad basically said the same thing on a blog on 1530 The Animal...maybe the Bungs front office do have brains...heartless and cold, but brains nonetheless...

That was a pretty easy call. It wasn't heartless, it was a simple business decision. Give him another year to rehab and hope he comes back. It allowed the Bengals to bring another player into camp as well so it was a good call.

Irons waived again

By GEOFF HOBSON
August 4, 2008

Posted: 1:50 p.m.

The Bengals officially severed ties with running back Kenny Irons on Monday when they waived him off injured reserve. Irons has had complications stemming from reconstructive knee surgey with his Bengals career consisting of just preseason carries before he tore his anterior cruciate ligament.

I remember the good ole days of being NOT IN CALIFORNIA and having people smoke in restaurants. Now when I go over to Nevada, it freaks me out when they ask me "smoking or non". I think all the seating sections in smoking were filled in North Carolina--aka--the Tobacco State.
