He has two or three Super Bowl wins and appearances under his belt. He at least tries to win with signing Warren Sapp and other free agents. He made the Super Bowl six years ago. You may not like who he signs but you can't say he isn't trying to win. You can't say any of the same things about Mike Brown.

He started losing it the minute he drafted a kicker in the 1st round (DateRapakowski). Then it's trickled down hill ever since. Did you see him on TV two weeks ago? The dude looks like he has a cocktail mix of Multiple Scholorsis (sp?) and special olympics. Almost zombie-like. I give Al Davis 2-3 more years, tops. He looks like sh*t.
I feel sorry for Raiders Fans. Granted, they don't have enough sense to get in out of the rain--and these No Sports Cal Fans are wayyyyyyyyy more homeristic than the Cincinnati Fans will ever hope to be. Every year is the Raiders' year. However, these fans show up if the Raiders are 4-12. There's no discussion about walking out. Their tailgating is legendary. The Coliseum Parking Lots are like Halloween Parties every weekend they play in Oakland.
I don't see a light at the end of the tunnel for Raider Fans though. They are screwed. Don't quote me on this: but I do believe that they basically have the same thing happening in Oakland as Cincinnati had back in the 90s. Al Davis is putting the operations in the hands of offspring. We've seen in Cincinnati how bad this could be.

Well, the difference is that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Jamarcus russell makes throws that no one (and I repeat) no one else in this league can make. Sure he sucks now, but holy sh!t does he have loads of potential and upside.
You give him an O-line and another good receiver (McFadden and Vargas are plenty good backs), this O can score points.
The defense is a bit of an enigma - they have been good the past few years. Maybe Kiffin was right. Maybe Ryan Jr is the problem at D-coordinator????

I suppose I shouldn't have started a new thread about the Brown-Davis comparison. Sorry about that. I guess I was overly excited about seeing the Bengals win something.

Hello, Mel Kiper JR. When did you show up!?!??!?!?!? You're not supposed to be a part of Bungle Webboards until next April, when you draft for us again for the 1st 3 rounds.
Dude--did you miss the last 5 or so seasons? Even when the Raiders went to the Super Bowl, they were bad. When Goose landed on Rich Gannon, the party was over in the East Bay.
