Well,Nostradamis I am not.Picking the woefull bungles season tallies is easy.
So far I predicted they would lose to the Ravens and the Titans and one doesnt need a crystal ball to see the schelaking Carson palmer and the bungs are going to take from the Giants today.Mike clown's idea of depth is rookie college free agents and letting your pro bowlers walk because you dont want to pay them.Boy,oh boy is this one going to bite him in the a$$ today.I bet Carson's confidence as a QB has never ever been this low.Loud mouth Tyrell ocho stinko whatevero is pretty much useless.Houshmandzadeh is still in preseason form and the offensive line is just that, offensive. The defense is on the field way too long and still sucks against the run(unless your Geoff Hobson and you take away this run and that missed tackle etc, etc, etc).Brandon Jacobs and the rest of the Giants are going to put the bungs run "D" right where it belongs,in the toilet. And when they do pass(Giants)the clown's beautiful decision to put more money in his pocket and let O'Neal walk is going to reap dividends immediately.Nothing like rookie college free agent DB's starting against last year's Superbowl MVP.Should Leon Hall go down, you would then have 2 rookie college free agent CB's against the reigning Superbowl MVP.Not exactly the recipe for a badly needed win.Somebody please tell me why you will START rookie college free agents but let your high draft picks sit on the bench and get NO experience or have no chance to contribute.I am sure Jerome Simpson can drop a pass just as well as ocho meo or Houshmandzadeh can and maybe he gets a little experience.Might pay off down the road sometime or should we continue watching the losers we have(chatman,Holt)contribute nothing.
So that being said,I am taking the Giants, the under, and giving 12 1/2 points.Brandon Jacobs will flatten the bungs for 150 yards. The real damage will be done by Manning and Buress/Toomer.David Jones is going to bring a whole new meaning to the words "Toast and Jones"and conjur up memories from the lost decade. The bungs are expecting the run,so Coughlin is going to pick on our college free agent DB.It's not David Jone's fault, its the clown's.No O'Neal=no experienced depth. Giants 31 brown's clowns 6 -Lumina-

The offense will sputter and make us sick. Brat will attempt either a failed pass or run up the middle on first, run up the middle on second, and third and long. Lather, rinse, repeat. It's failed many times before, and it will fail again. The defense will do slightly better than the offense, but between David Jones and the offense constantly going three and out, the defense will wear out quickly. The Giants will have 300 yards passing and 200 rushing for 500+ yards of offense.
Giants 41
Bengals 16
After the game, Marvin will announce that he likes where the team is at this point. They just have to do their jobs, be consistent, make plays, finish tackles, and play smarter. Geoff Hobson will proclaim a moral victory because the Bengals scored more points than the first two games of the season.

I look for a simple recipe for an uncontested Giants' win:
Eli locks in on Plaxico for fast and early scoring. After about a 17-0 lead, Tom Coughlin starts "letting the air out of the tires" with heavy running and clock burning torment.
With this being the Bungles third preseason game, Carson might get the offense moving a little better with a meaningless 4th quarter drive.
Giants in a route, 30-14.

I'm guessing 31-10 Giants, because the G-Men can't help but come out a little flat after watching Bengals game film all week. Chris Perry rushes for over 60 yards, mostly on two meaningless drives late in the game against New York's subs. Palmer throws two more interceptions and gets sacked three times.

Hmmm...the Giants started slow against the Rams last week and the Rams are equally terrible. But they worked in their asskicking in the fourth. I see a slower death with a long drive. The Giants win 31-14 but the score won't properly reflect the drubbing. Slobson sees it as productive that "we stayed within two scores of the Super Bowl champs until nearly the end..."

The Gaints show the Bengals what it means to rush the passer with thier 3rd string linemen due to injuires. Palmer runs for his life and reinjures himself. Marvin comes out waving a white flag after halftime.

Hurray, the punt didn't get blocked in the endzone! Woo hoo!
This game didn't take long to get ugly for the Bengals, did it? The Giants' crowd seems into it. Maybe the Giants second possession is where the butchering starts.

Well, the Bengals stop two consecutive drives quickly. Now they get a pretty good punt return. Good field position at about their own 37? If the offense could only get untracked...
What am I thinking? Disaster is right around the corner.

Sacked

That's already 4 sacks. And they're not even in the 2nd half yet. The question isn't win the Bungles will register a win. The real question is will Carson Palmer still be standing upright in week 17? This guy is getting beat up in every game.
I'll say Palmer's hurt by week 8.

Bengals had a good drive at the end of the half and get a field goal. CIN-C-STAR, that must be Rod Sterling that you're hearing, because Chatman was a factor again.
Coats looked terrible trying to make that catch in the endzone. Talk about hands of stone!

I have been a Bengal fan too long to know that this won't last. The Giants will either make half time adjustments and blast off a huge lead in the second half or the Bengals will lose a heartbreaker at the end.

If I didn't know better, I'd say that is a legitimate NFL team we're watching play the Giants. I know, I know. There's 30 more minutes to go, but this has been a solid performance so far. (Yes, the secondary was lucky that the Giants ran so much.)
I thought this would be the kind of game that is over practically before it begins. Well, we're not getting that, although Palmer may get sacked 8-10 times today. Falc, you're probably right. He's going to get killed this year.

Big drop by Ocho Stinko. A sustained drive to start the second half would have been a big boost. Maybe he shouldn't be playing with that shoulder injury, but I guess he still poses a threat.
So if the Giants now ram the ball down the Bengals throats, I guess we'll start getting what we were expecting.

And now we have blood is pouring down Carson Palmer's face... again! At the end of the season, people are going to make montages of all the bloody photographs. There will be at least a half-dozen, I'm sure.

I think the Bengal performance thus far indicates that they actually are trying to win. Unfortunately for them, however, you can't just turn on and off your desire to win in the NFL. To win in the NFL it takes everything you have plus a little bit of luck. What we are seeing and have seen with the Bengals thus far is the price you pay for striving for mediocrity. That's right baby, 0-16 here we come!!!
GO GIANTS!!!

"16-13 after a long sustained drive by the Giants. Bengals hold them to another field goal, but is our defensive line wearing out? "
No, that was a really dumb move by Caughlin. 13-13 in a big game. Red Zone. 4th and 1. Against one of the worst defenses in the league. You elect to kick. Thus giving the other team life.
DUMB CALL.
You run that ball straight up the gut for the win. Stupid stuff. Bunch of dumb coaching calls in this game.

Stat of the day

BTW--so far the stat of the day is 8 for 13 on 3rd down. The Bungles have had it 3rd and long--but Carson has executed. I'll say they're lucky.

TJ gets the touchdown! Wow! That was a good drive, you have to admit. Don't look now, but they have a shot at winning this game. 20-16 with about four and a half minutes to go.

2 plays and already down to the Bungles' 30 something yard line.
LMMFAO!!!! Dave Lapham just said "Bungles need a 4 down stand somewhere"
LOL!!!!!! That's hilarious. Another 1st down by the Giants. I'll say this game is already over--23-20, Giants....
And Caughlin is lucky that they are playing one of the worst teams in the
league.

Geez, you could see that coming. Bengals can't make a defensive play when they need it. 1:50 to go and down 23-20. How many times will Palmer get sacked on their next drive?

funny--I was thinking the same thing.
How many drops has Chad had today? Must be thinking about his next 1st down dance. Forget about TDs anymore.
