He's not horrible, but we were at the game, and I can tell you the difference between him and Palmer is noticeable. This should put all those clamoring for Fitzpatrick to start to rest. Although, I do wish Carson could run like that if necessary.

I think the game would have been even uglier with Palmer in there, Fitz got away from pressure a half dozen times that Palmer would have been sacked on.

Sounds like there'll be some hollerin' and breakin' of dishes in the murf household tonight.

It so irritating to listen to all you "experts" who constantly trash Palmer-probably the same people who complain about Mike Brown and still support him by going to the game, usually justifying it by coming up with an excuse like "I got the tickets for free". If Palmer had even a resemblance of an NFL offensive line like most of the other top notch NFL quarterbacks have, think how good he'd be. We all saw how "good" Brady was in the last Super Bowl when his offensive line played like crap..... and all this garbage about his mobility-HE HAD HIS KNEE BLOWN TO PIECES! It's amayzing how quickly he was back on the field. You have to give the guy credit for even attempting to play knowing that he is going to get crushed almost every time he drops back. Don't insult the rest of us by insinuating that Fitzpatrick should start over Palmer.

Silowen, if you haven't seen it, check out this thread from earlier in the season. There's a debate brewing, but you're not on an island defending Palmer.
Ghiaciuc was thrown back about 3 yds every play against Rodgers and still doesn’t know how to snap a football. How in the world is this guy in the nfl.
Put whatever quarter back you want behind Ghiaciuc and that bust of a line and see what happens. Same goes for a running back when you have Perry getting hit as soon as the ball is handed to him. How in the He!! Did Marvin expect to have an offense this year when he has one of the worst lines in the league? Also, why draft receivers when the you have a quarter back running for his life on every play.

I go back to the post where I (incorrectly) defended the idea of giving Fitzpatrick a shot. I don't know of ANYONE who argued that Palmer couldn't be a good QB somewhere else. The question is, if you know your team's O-line is suspect, does it behoove you to start a relatively immobile QB?
Turns out Fitzpatrick isn't mobile enough to avoid three sacks and sucks when he throws it anyway.
Point being, I think we all accept that if Palmer had been drafted by New England, he'd be swimming in rings. No one disputes that,

I don't even know why I am wasting time with this debate.
Palmer vs Fitzy.....
OK, Crazy legs fitzy made a few runs, great, glad he is able to pull that off and if called on a again, might need that talent to keep a drive going.
Here is the problem, his legs work, but his arma nd mind, not so well.
Very bad throws all day.
Had people wide open and did not deliver the ball and when he did, they had to wait on it.
he is a back up for a reason and we watched that, this is not preseason vs the beer truck drivers anymore.
Palmer.....
Never mind....I am debating the same people who loved Kitna.

murf, I conceded I was wrong. What the hell more do you want? I'm just explaining why I argued the way I did.
Notice how when others on the board are wrong, we own up to it. Notice how we continuously flog you for your pathetically absurd 11-5 prediction and you refuse to own up to it.
I mean seriously: 11-5?? "It's only preseason, they will be fine!" Was your body snatched for a few weeks by another murf?

So I guess the question is, should Palmer be put in for their next game against Dallas? Really, the Bungs have no chance against them so why run the risk of him getting hurt again? Then again, I suppose with this O-line you could make that argument for about any game they play. LOL.

It kind of worries me that Carson didn't try to man up and play cause the game was the season. If they went o and 4 there was no chance of having a successful season. He wasn't talking about not playing until he declared he wasn't going to play. I have to question his heart at this point. I also wish the Palmer would run and take a hit every now and then. When Fitz ran for the first down and took the hit he had everyone fired up. Then he threw a terrible pass that was intercepted and the momentum left as fast as it came. My point is he played with passion and sometimes that is the most important thing. I don't want Fitz to start over Palmer but it would be nice to see our franchise QB man up and get a little excited sometimes.

I'm more upset that I took a chance on starting Palmer in my fantasy league, and he screwed me over by saying he was fine when I had Aaron Rogers on the bench. Even when I don't care about winning the Bengals find a way to mess with me.
