Did you realize that with their win over Akron, the Bearcats surged ahead of the Bengals in the "Wins by football teams in Cincinnati since 1991" standings?
Bearcats record 1991-present: 98-104
Bengals record 1991-present: 97-179
Despite playing *74 more games*, the Bengals have not managed to win more than the Bearcats-- an NCAA team that has only qualified for a Bowl game 7 times in that period.
Other fun facts:
The Bearcats achieved the aforementioned honor despite only having one 10 win season in that time.
The Bearcats managed to finish seven seasons in 17 with more wins than the Bengals despite playing 3-5 games less per year. This year will make it eight.
The Bearcats winning percentage has been higher than the Bengals in 11 of 17 seasons. This year will make it 12.
Mike Brown: worse than the Bearcats or your money back!

I need to be rooting for the Bearcats every week instead..lol Makes sense though. I wonder if the two faced off, if Mike Brown's merry bunch of arseclowns could pull off a win then....methinks it is doubtful..<evil grin>

Can someone show the Reds-Bungles Cartoon where the Reds are heading up and the Bungles are heading down on the escalators? Place the Bearcats over the Reds, please.
The way the BearCats are heading, they won't be looking too damned bad by the time 2010 comes around. That decision to join the Big East is looking pretty good for them.
BTW, speaking of the Big East--some of those teams are underrated.

(I'll try to avoid making a new post every week for this and do edits when my post is the last one in, I may periodically make a new post if someone responds or when the season ends)
The Bearcats are one win away from the Orange Bowl while Mike Brown is probably too cheap to give the Bengals oranges as snacks in the locker room.
Bearcats record 1991-present: 104-105-0 (.498)
Bengals record 1991-present: 98-184-1 (.348)

The Bearcats are Orange Bowl bound! And furthermore, they are now officially .500 since Paul Brown passed away.
I've also realized that the above records accounted for the Bearcats' Bowl games but didn't account for Mike Brown's one measly playoff game. So I've taken the liberty of adding that loss. Y'all can let me know if that's cheating...
So now the Bearcats not only lead the Bengals post-1991 despite the 75 game deficit, they now lead comfortably by seven games. They have two games left and the Bengals have four-- take three guesses at how much ground the Bengals will make.
Bearcats record 1991-present: 105-105-0 (.500)
Bengals record 1991-present: 98-186-1 (.344)

Wow--the BearCats had some real bad seasons in the 90s...
I guess the last 3-5 years evened that out. It cracks me up that MFB might reach the 200-lose mark before the 100-win one. Now that is hilarious.

And the final standings until August 2009:
Bearcats record 1991-present: 106-106-0 (.500)
Bengals record 1991-present: 101-187-1 (.351)
Wow, the Bengals "magnificent" three-game winning streak combined with a Bearcats Bowl loss leaves them only five wins short of the Bearcats in 77 less games. Heck, compared to four weeks ago, it's a Christmas miracle! :-p

Hey there, folks, I won't add a post every week unless others reply but I'll at least put a new post in here and update the numbers on a weekly basis. We've had two Bearcats games and one Bengals game.
Please keep in mind the whole point of the comparison, which is that this isn't freakin' Ohio State or USC to whom I'm comparing the Bengals. I'm comparing them to an NCAA team that has won exactly TWO conference titles during this period. This is why most people probably wouldn't feel compelled to spend hard-earned money on a Bearcats game. Yet look at the record for which fans are willing to throw money just because "it's the NFL."
Bearcats record 1991-present: 111-106-0 (.512)
Bengals record 1991-present: 104-188-1 (.357)
Bearcats = seven more wins in 76 less games.
