And I agree with Lou Holtz--Friday Night Post-Game, Lou Holtz states that the NCAA needs to do something else with Boise State because they are tearing up the WAC. They have lost something like 4 games TOTAL since 2000 against the WAC, and haven't lost a home game against WAC Opponents. Correct me if I'm wrong there, TomTom.

I agree totally. Put Boise State in the Pac-10. Place Fresno in the Pac-10. Call it the Pac-12. Have a conference championship. It would make things much more interesting than having USC beat up on teams like the Washingtons and the rest of California.

We've won conference championships for about 9 of the last 10 years in both the WAC and the Big West Conference.

we won the WAC in 2008, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003 and 2002.  I think we have lost 6 regular season games between 2002 and 2008.  We also won the Big West Conference in 1999 and 2000.

We will be changing  conferences in 2 years, but not to PAC ten, we will be with Utah and BYU in the Mountain West.  I'd love to be in the PAC 10 but since Boise State is a mid-major, I can understand the conference choice.

I'd rather play UC in the Orange Bowl than TCU in the Poinsetta Bowl, but it'd be hot dang if we could play Texas in the Fiesta Bowl.

I know, your team did what it had to do...won all of thier games....but playing second and third tier teams will not win the favor of the BCS clowns.

The BCS system, from a financial standpoint, doesn't need to change a thing. Much like Mike Brown, all the people SAYING "this system is bu!!$#!+" won't translate to change unless everyone decided to stop watching the Rose, Sugar, Fiesta, Orange and BCS bowls simultaneously.

Trying to explain U.S. college football to people who don't follow it is a tricky thing. I've tried explaining it to my brother on numerous occasions and he says the same thing to me every time, "I don't get all these Bowls...what do they mean? They're not championships so why does everyone treat them like they are?" I've gone over the money, the conference pride, etc, but he just doesn't grasp it. It especially irks him when the Bowl games are referred to as "postseason" because he instantly associates that term with "playoffs."

The truth is, the fact that we get all this fodder to type about on messageboards and talk about with our friends is part of what makes the BCS thrive. They see more intrigue in giving us games that sort of take on the facade of being championship games, but actually leave all sorts of room for dispute. Fans say "I want a playoff!" but then line up by the 1000s to join their school's charter bus to watch the Bob's Sparkplugs.com Bowl and act like their team's actually won something important when they win the game. No incentive to change.

you may be correct, we could be headed to the Poinsetta Bowl... but  the Humanitarian Bowl folks might make them stay in town because Boise won't turn out to root for some other team and nobody from someplace warm is coming to Boise for a football game.  So to save it they can require BSU to play here.

The bowl reps were all here for the last game.  First half was actually close before we blew them out.  Hopefully they saw something they liked.  There is some marketability to BSU as they are the "underdog" and they have a very exciting offenxe.  Our QB is only a sophomore which is awesome.

When we go to Mountain West, the competition will get better, but I don't think it will help us all that much.  I'd love to add about 10,000 more students and join the PAC 10.

BCS loves its system because it is a season long playoff.  It is one big national championship right from the beginning, so everybody has to watch every game for the entire season because it is one big tourney.

You could possibly say the same thing about UC being in Conf-USA, dude. UC had the opportunity to play with the big boys and they jumped. Now they are getting the recruits and making BCS Bowls.

Boise State just went undefeated--and possibly going back to the Humanitarian Bowl. WTF!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!? Just join the Pac-10 and go 9-2, instead of going 13-0 every year. It makes you look much better. Plus, Peterson is that good of a coach. Just think if you do go 9-2 in the PAC-10 in your first year? You probably go to a January Bowl--and that means that big time recruits are coming your direction. It's a mistake to go play in the MWC, IMO. Look to jump to the big boys. Otherwise, your program isn't going anywhere. You lose 1 game in those conferences like the MWC, Sun Belt, Conf-USA, MAC, or WAC--and you go to a December Bowl Game--and NOBODY cares about you.

Boise state has just under 20,000 students while UC has appox 35,000.  Mountain west isn't bad in that they had 3 ranked teams for most of the season this year.  But yes, if it were me I'd do everything I could to get into the PAC 10.

You know they are going to pimp slap the MWC too, dude. Air Force? Colorado State? Boise State is going to hook them out. I even think the Broncos are going to b*tch slap the Mormons for a couple of years before someone finally notices what's happening in the Rockies on the West Coast.

I think sooner or later, if Boise State can keep it up (and I heard that Peterson has had other offers--but have shunned them all stating that he loves Boise, ID)--then they will join the PAC-10.

If the Cougars ever put together a team--as in Washington State--then that could be a real cool rivalry--as in the Snake River Canyon Rivalry. Sounds pretty cool, huh?

My dad basically forced me to go to a "big" football school. I remember many of his football stories...we all miss him so much. If you don't mind me asking, did you play football with my dad?

They are talking Boise state against ball state to save the h bowl. That might not be a bad way to go for Boise.

I see your point, but the problem with a school of this size, despite the fact that they are awesome at football, would be the other sports and stadium size/attendance.

In Boise's case, while I'm sure that their football program definitely measures up to and exceeds most PAC-10 football programs, I'm not sure how their other "olympic" sports match up. And as far as stadium size/attendance, without looking up stats, I would guess that their attendance would be lower-middle in the Pac-10, but their stadium size would likely be smallest unless Washington State's stadium is smaller. Thus, their potential for big crowds would be small unless they build a bigger stadium (i.e. maybe they are outdrawing UW right now, but if UW turns it back around, they have a huge stadium to fill).

Just my $0.02. But I would love to see Boise State compete week-in and week out with better D-1 programs. The Mountain West if definitely a step-up, and I would expect BSU to still win a lot of games and hopefully see their strength of schedule increase!

Boise State has been around the top for awhile now....they should know better hat to gain respect you have to play someone. Thier conference is weak...therefore play someone out side of it.. at least someone from the Big East or ACC. I know alot of team make out thier schedule 3 or 4 years down the road....but they can get out of games if they want to....

In boise's defense, they did play Oregon and beat them.

This has all the makings of a trap game and I have to say I am pretty nervous. S. FLA has our former D coordinator and riding a 5-0 win streak against ranked teams and the D has been relying on turnovers which can dry up quickly.

Need a big game here.

UC is just amazing. I thought this might be their upset game. USF had alot of mistakes however - but just like OSU ...UC D is awesome.

That new QB Collaros is something special. I hope Pike comes back soon though.
