Trade Chad and TJ for draft picks, and then use the picks to select additional linemen? I think a lot more fans would love to see that than Daugherty anticipates. Sorry, Doc, but you've failed to be controversial on this one. Same goes for you Murf, but I'm sure you'll think of a few angles to get everyone's blood pressure elevated.

"The defense is good enough to keep the Bengals in most games."

Are you kidding? Just because the Bungles padded their stats against teams like Kansas City last year--that doesn't make the defense "good enough". BS. They were NOT good enough. That defensive line needs a complete overhaul.

Bengals Indeed Out of Synch Again

I heard this all the way up here in Chicago. And I agree that the Bungs really do need to start at square #1 which means the lines. But if the get rid of both Ocho and TJ to do it, once again we will be terribly out of synch. We'll be building on offensive line so Palmer can throw to -- who?

Yet, I see no other place to start than with the lines, esp. the offensive line. Even before Palmer got hurt we weren't winning any games with CJ and TJ...so what is there to really lose?

Doc:

"You don't win with great wide receivers; you win by protecting the passer and rushing the passer. The Bengals were awful at both last year."

Where have I heard that before? Oh, that's right. From most all MBS posters.

New England has proven you can win it all without a big name receiver. The Giants proved it as recently as last year...after all, Plexico was a Steeler reject.

The game has always been determined on the lines. The Bungs' offensive line has decayed drastically since 2005, and so has its offensive production.

And the Bungs have been a laughingstock on defense for two decades, including this year against any team that was mediocre or better. My gosh, it's starting to sound like even some Mike-hole critics have forgotten the defensive humiliations at the hands of mediocre Pittsburg and Baltimore offenses this season.

So with all those facts on the table, what am I hoping for?

The comedy to continue. Please, Mikey, draft safeties and wide receivers and let the laughs continue.

Yes, and I'm "praying" that Mike Crabtree is sitting there in that 6th position so Mikey can stupidly select him. I'll be on the floor rolling as usual after the Bungles' annual draft pick. Last year, I laughed. The year before that was even more ridiculous. And the year before that was a laugh-fest. I hope the Akili Smith Situation happens again sometime soon--and the Chrissy Perry Repeats too. LMAO.

Oh MIkey--you're a real good one.

The thing I don't think everybody is seeing is that you have to make the playoffs before you win the Superbowl. We need O and D line but our defense was much improved this year. We are a couple of players away from a solid defense. No, not dominating, but solid. When you have a good o line it makes covering recievers harder because they have more time to get open. Thats how the Eagles, pats, and giants work. I am trying to be optimistic till the draft. I will not make any decisons on how the team stacks up till then. I want both TJ and Chad gone because they have become a crutch ratheer than a solution to the teams needs. I wish them both well but hope they're not back next year.
