Here are this year's FA Running Backs. Which one would you rather see on the Bungholes?....keeping in mind they can't even afford the 64 yr. old Jordan.

J.J. Arrington
Cedric Benson
Corel Buckhalter
Darren Sproles
Brandon Jacobs
Lamont Jordan
Derrick Ward

Have fun averaging 2.8 ypc next year, Bungles. Have fun with the attitudes, too.

IMO, Derrcik Ward is clearly the best of the bunch, and Sproles, but I think Ward is more near what the bengals need in terms of a back that can carry more fo the load.

They could get him long-term in a deal that averages about 4.5 mill, less than half what it would cost to franchise TJ. And as much as I like TJ, Ward would help this team way more than TJ and he is young enough to be viable for a few years.

Plus, the Bungs always say they want to commit to the run game, but commit all their money (and draft picks) to the pass game. Money talks, bull$hit walks.

Sign Ward, that would help Carson more than any receiver available in the draft or FA (including TJ).

Keep dreaming. If Ward's smart--he'll stay far far away from Mikey's hellhole.

I say Ward or Sproles, I didnt see a big problem with Benson last year. I dont know if he can take the abuse the oleh o-line dishes out for a whole year but he did run harder then our last 10 backs.

Lord, please bring a defense to the Natti.

Benson or draft a rookie.

Sproles will not be leaving the Chargers.
If they allow him to walk...they are idiots.

I say Benson.

Seeing Ward everyday, I hope he does well wherever he goes. But Big Blue has always run the ball. Historically. He may be no more than Watson or Perry.

The GMEN are my NFC team, it is hard to hate them. It was a very big loss this week when Brad Van Pelt passed away. I was a child watching #10 patrol this place. He loved the NYC nightlife.

I hope they sign Benson too, don't get me wrong.

My thoughts are that they need to add two RBs this offseason. They could sign Benson (or someone else) and draft a rookie, no doubt, but they have so many holes to fill and the draft is so unpredicatble that I would rather them sign the guys they need to run the rock in FA and then draft the best available that fits their many needs. If they do draft, a guy like Gartrell Johnson from Colorado State would be a great pick up, but I am not sure that he will be there when they are ready to draft a RB.

So I am thinking you can sign Benson AND Ward and it will still cost you only about $7 or 7.5 million a year, about as much as siging TJ.

Economic hard times & Mikey

The more I think about free agency in light of Mikey's preference to stay away from it even in good times, I can't imagine him going after any first tier FA this year. If Mikey and John Cooper both pass out in the draft room from their Shoenling little kings (delivered free of course, compliments of the Hamilton Co. Commissioners) then maybe Marvin could get something done.....but I'm not holding my breath. Although I think Marvin is way too thin skinned and a bit of a pr*ck, I believe him to be a competent judge of talent.

Add me to those who think Derrick Ward would be a good pickup. He proved he can take the punishment of being the bellcow back when Jacobs was hurt and he can probably be had relatively cheap, and, he's faster than Kijana Perry.
