I called it, signing Benaon for $3.5 mill a year when they could have had Ward for only $1 mill a year more.

Typical Mikey, sit around and wait for a deal, and then when the market dries up get desperate to placate the sheep and overpay for someone.

6-10, here we come!

Right now I'm pretty happy about this for the single indication that we no longer need to take a running back in the first round. I don't care if he is a bust, I just don't want a skill player, I want someone in the trenches on either side of the ball.

Well, I'll be. The Bengals plodding approach actually worked for a change. There must be a blue moon out tonight.

Benson may or may not turn out to be a decent back, but it will be interesting to see how it unfolds. I wonder if his attitude will stay positive now that he has a 2-year contact?

From Pro Football Weekly:

This is a deal that makes sense for both sides. Benson was unlikely to be a starter for many other clubs, and the Bengals have grown to like him and respect him during his time in Cincinnati. He was one of the Bengals' steadiest players, and he ran with power, a must for a back of his size.

Benson's supporters will point to Benson's production in three-quarters of a season with Cincinnati and his relatively young age and suggest the best may be yet to come for the No. 4 overall pick in the 2005 draft. However, Benson lacks top-end speed and has never played a full NFL season.

Good point T. Christina Sherry is the best 3rd down back ever! I don't know what we will do on 1st and 2nd down, but with Sherry locked up for another season, who cares?

And if we draft Crabtree in the 1st round, then we will have a 1st round WR, 2 2nd round WRs and 2 3rd round WRs on the team. Since winning the Superbowl is all about having 5 quality WRs and a great 3rd down back, we can't lose!

God bless the brown-hole!

"I called it, signing Benaon for $3.5 mill a year when they could have had Ward for only $1 mill a year more."

So lemme get this straight. Benson will be making $100 grrrrr for every inch he gains--thus justifying the $3.5 mil for that 3.5 ypc that he'll be getting next year. Just soooooooo Mikey. I'm just soooooo impressed, Mikehole. Schmuck.

"So he got fired? Big deal. It's happened to the best of us. So he got kicked out of his house by his 400 lb'ed wife?!?!? That's probably better for him anyways."-OldSchooler on ChrisMBHater's absence
